What other photographers are saying:
I work with and meet with many other photographers both locally and nationwide at trade-shows, conventions in training classes and as an assistant. We get to look at each others work, discuss the business and give each other 'helpful' advise. I have learned a lot of great ideas from some great photographers. When I talk about what I do and how I do it, some (not so great) photographers tell me that I 'work too hard' for my customers. Some have said that I should charge more and deliver less, others make it clear that they would be unwilling to do the extra steps that I do to insure the job is done right!
I guess that's one of the things that makes us different, I would rather not do a wedding than compromise on quality. Being able to take great wedding photographs is a gift that not all wedding photographers posses. With that gift comes the responsibility to always do it right. I think the problem in our industry is too many vendors are doing just what they have to to 'get by' instead of what they should do as an integral part of a once-in-a-lifetime event that may well be one of the most important days thus far in ones life.
Totally Guaranteed!
If you don't like your photos, we will re-do them!
~ no problem, no worries ~

I'm setting up my photographer appointments, and he's on the list of people to meet with. His work looks beautiful, so we'll see how the meeting goes! Let me know if you have any experiences with him before I do!

I used Dan Harris for our wedding in March. The pictures were amazing and Dan is so easy to work with. The pictures were so great I ended up doubling the the size of my album, and my husband and I have already decided that at long as he is in jax he will be our family photographer. I can't say enough about Dan, except it is more like having a friend that is in photography, than hiring some stranger. He was awesome!

We've just reserved his services for our wedding. My mom and I spent over an hour and a half w/him looking at all his albums & proofs and talking to him. He got our vote not just b/c of his work, but b/c he gave us the right feel. He's going to do a ton of candids throughout the night to capture everything, in addition to the posed shots. I know it sounds like most will do that, but here's how he explained it to me. "If you're having a lovely chat with your elderly grandmother, I'm not going to pull you away from that to take another posed picture just b/c the light has changed from the 5 minutes since I last took your picture. I'm going to quietly capture the picture of you and your grandmother." I hope I explained that as well as he did. He just feels right so I definitely recommend at least a meeting.

For those of you who used him, how was his pricing? Did you have him all day (or will you) or a specified amount of time? I meet with him next Monday. I really like the work he has posted on his site. Thanks!

If you go to his website, you can build your own package. I thought his prices were fair for the quality of work. (we all know photography is expensive in the first place). He is UPFRONT so you know exactly how much you are spending and you get a discount if you pay for all of it before the wedding. When I interviewed other photographers, they seemed cheaper upfront, but then I asked them about all the 'extras' that came standard with Dan, they ended up more expensive than him. I appreciate his honesty upfront and I can't wait to meet him. Our appointment is on Saturday. :-)

I met with Dan a couple of months ago for about two hours. We will definitely book him as soon as we set a firm date. I've seen all of his online albums and a few of his albums, and I have not seen one blurry or out of focus picture. His work is the best photojournalistic work that I have seen. He's upfront with his pricing and let's you dictate how the day will roll. He isn't the cheapest photographer out there, but his package prices include your album and proofs...something that most photographer's packages do not.

Dan is the BEST! Not only is he a GREAT photographer, he is kind, spontaneous and organized! I love to show off my pictures. The wonderful 'grainy & blurry' artistic shot of my mother crying during our ceremony is on the first page of his website! (www.GreatWeddingPhotography.com)
Our wedding was in July 2003. He was professional, fun, creative and open to my crazy ideas. I would not have survived my wedding day without his help. Dan carried my lipstick for me in his pocket the whole wedding day and his assistant Dean was really helpful and even got down on the ground and crawled under my dress to help bustle it when everyone else was in a panic because they forgot how to do it!
Dan isn't on the low-end of pricing, but he really gives you your monies worth. Hiring Dan Harris PhotoArt was one of the best decisions we ever made!

Dan is awesome! He was our wedding photographer on April 3, 2004. He is very easy to work with, his pictures are beautiful...but most of all they are not planned or staged. They are spontaneous and artistic. He is calm, collective, and made my day easier to deal with. If you haven't done it already...you need to call and set up an appointment to view his work...OR just book the date. You will not regret it!
